Come join us for a conversation on Leadership in a Time of Crisis. This interactive session will be led by GLF’s teacher and guide, David Miller. As part of this, David will share some of his reflections on 9/11, based on his time there as a chaplain at Ground Zero, where he served for nine months, working weekend night shift.
What leadership lessons did we learn from 9/11? Is there anything we can prepare or consider in advance to make us more effective leaders when the next crisis occurs? Can faith play a role in these defining leadership moments?
To get in the frame for this GLF, you might want to watch the interview David conducted with Jimmy Dunne of Sandler O’Neill. You’ll recall his firm was decimated during the 9/11 attacks, and he – drawing on his faith and street fighting instincts – not only saved and rebuilt his company but he also did some extraordinary (and some leadership theorists would say ill-advised) things for the victims’ families in the process.
